aspirations, a hostage crisis, and his loyalty to his native country.
The film is based on the best-selling novel of the same name, which has been translated into 25 languages. Filming took place in Delhi, Istanbul, New York, Atlanta, and Lahore in Pakistan.
The score includes new original music by Peter Gabriel. Singers who have crooned for the film include Atif Aslam, Meesha Shafi, and Ali Azmat among others. One of the tracks is a poem by Faiz Ahmed Faiz, Bol Ke Lab Azaad Hain Tere. Atif Aslam had flown to London to work on the song and sung the Urdu lines while Gabriel sang the English parts. Another poem sung by Aslam is Mori Araj Suno, again penned by Faiz Ahmed Faiz.
Nair has been quoted as saying that they have also worked with Michael Andrews, known for his work on films such as Donnie Darko.
