The music royalty war between the radio broadcasters and music companies continues to get murkier with T-Series terminating broadcast licenses granted to Reliance Broadcast Network’s 92.7 Big FM and Shri Puran Multimedia’s Radio Mantra.
T-Series spokesperson confirmed that while Big FM hasn’t been playing their music since 31 December 2011, it terminated Radio Mantra’s broadcast license on 20 January, 2012. Both the networks haven’t been playing T-Series content since the termination of their license agreements.
The music company further mentions that Radio City, a radio venture owned by Music Broadcast Pvt Ltd has recently reached a settlement after a gap of one year and commenced playing music owned by T-Series.
It is known that apart from these cases, there are various legal proceedings related to licensing disputes with radio companies before the Copyright Board as well as the Hon’ble Delhi High Court.
