The music launch of the forthcoming Bollywood film Cocktail was cancelled after four Pakistani singers were denied visas to attend the event in Bandra.
The group of Pakistani singers who have lent their voices for the film include Arif Lohar, Imran Aziz Mia and Javed Bashir. The producers of Cocktail had planned a huge unplugged evening of jugal bandi between Indian and Pakistani musicians.
However, things did not go according to plan. Since the singers could not get visas to come to India, the makers of the film decided to scrap the music launch idea.
According to reports, the producers are now planning to hold the music launch in London where concurrently both Indian and Pakistani singers who feature in the soundtrack will be performing.
The film stars Saif Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone, Diana Penty and Boman Irani.
Meanwhile, talking to Daily Times, Arif Lohar denied that he was refused visa by Indian authorities. He said this was only a misunderstanding, as he had no plans to go to India any time soon. Lohar confirmed that he had not applied for an Indian visa, so any news regarding the matter was completely false. Also, he had received no such invitation for any music launch. “My routine abroad tours are continuing as per schedule, and if I do travel to India, I doubt if there is going to be any such problem,” he cleared.
