Kanye West‘s G.O.O.D. Music roster has been officially added to the lineup for the 2012 BET Awards which go done on July 1st. Samuel L. Jackson has been picked to host the event which will also feature performances from Nicki Minaj, Usher and Chris Brown.
Big Sean explained that he’s excited to be able to represent his hometown during the ceremony and added that he was looking forward to performing for his family who are sure to tune in. “It’s perfect. My grandma gonna be watchin’, my mom, my family, the whole city. It’s just tight that I can represent those people, everybody who had that dream, everybody who used to ride to school [listening to] their idols — now I’m with them. It’s just tight that I can show people that it’s possible,” Big Sean told MTV News.
Although it’s not yet clear which of the tracks from the upcoming G.O.O.D. Music compilation, Cruel Summer, the crew will perform, it seems likely that Big Sean, Pusha T, 2 Chainz and Kanye West will hit the audience with their album’s lead single Mercy.
West leads the nominations for the BET Awards this year with a total of seven nods including five for material from Watch the Throne, one for his Marvin and Chardonnay collaboration with Big Sean and the last is for Video Director of the Year.
