On Christmas day, singer-composer Bappi Lahiri, whose Ooh La La… from The Dirty Picture has been ruling charts for the last six weeks, will unveil another song, Boka Chor… on YouTube.
This one has been recorded for Dhumketu Punatar’s soon-to-release movie, Its Rocking Dard-e-Disco.
The Disco King promises that like Ooh La La… that was the song of the year, Boka Chor… will be playing at every Christmas and New Year party and will rock 2012.
If Ooh La La… was inspired by Bappi’s Mawwali chartbuster, Ooi Amma…, then Boka Chor…, he admits, borrows its basic style from Himmatwala’s (1983) Nainon Main Sapna….
What makes Boka Chor… unique is the amalgamation of four regional languages in the lyrics. While Boka (foolish) is a Bengali word, Chor (thief) is in Hindi.
